Portland Area COVID-19 Resources

With quarantine measures in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon, the Portland community has stepped up to help one another. We’ve compiled a list of some of the resources available for residents of the Portland Metro (and beyond!)

General Resources:

  • Comcast is offering 60 days of free internet services for low-income households, the elderly, and veterans in need.
  • A comprehensive spreadsheet of emergency relief resources created by Congressman Earl Blumenauer and his team. Click here to find information on food access, shelter/utilities/rent, resources for college students, seniors, and more.
  • For information about COVID-19 treatments and prevention or if you’re experiencing symptoms, call 211 or 1-866-698-6155.
  • Freelance artists can find information and resources here.
  • Veteran’s can read about the VA’s response to COVID-19 and updates on preventative measures, clinical screenings, and current VA COVID-19 cases.
  • Whether you want to know how to help support local businesses or you’re looking for more resources to help yourself and your loved ones.
  • The Rose Quarter also has a list with mental health resources, museums/online courses, free meals, workout videos, and more.

Food Resources:

  • Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon has a rundown of all Oregon School Districts and their meal plan offerings for children aged 1-18 during closures. Note: Per their website, your child does not have to attend that specific school or district to have access to the free meals. The website also has more information on WIC, SNAP.
  • For more assistance in finding food pantries and food assistance, visit the Oregon Food Bank’s Food Finder.
  • Tired of cooking? The Oregonian has a running list of Portland area restaurants offering takeout or delivery.
 

For Job Seekers:

  • KOIN has a list of Oregon and Southern Washington employers currently hiring through the COVID-19 crisis. The Oregonian also has a list of Oregon companies hiring now.

For Employers:

  • The Oregon Employment Department has updated information on unemployment benefits for job seekers and employers while they focus on the health and safety of Oregon workers.
  • For nonprofits who are unsure how to move forward in the COVID-19 pandemic, Washington Nonprofits has a series of webinars and resources to help educate other's responses. The Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) has bi-weekly COVID-19 updates, information on family/medical leave and insurance as well as public policy changes and HR webinars.
  • The National Council of Nonprofits has a step-by-step guide for next steps and decision making.
  • Focused on local employers, The Portland HR Management Association (PhRMA) has resources on sick leave, crisis leadership and even mindfulness.
  • The newly launched BBPDX Switchboard connects employers with other employers in the community. It’s a real-time community that is focused on helping those who ask and offering help whenever possible.
  • Greater Portland has a list of Oregon and Washington resources on top of National and Federal ones. They have webinars and guides on business resiliency, switching to remote work, and even information on leases/rent relief.
