Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join a growing technology team building scalable, high-volume, high-availability software workflows. This is a full stack QA role with a strong emphasis on back-end processes, split evenly between new builds and enhancements to existing systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on tester and natural coach who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and enjoys guiding teammates toward stronger automation practices.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities

• Ensure new and existing product functionality is reliable, defect-free, and performs as intended.
• Create, document, and execute test plans and test cases from the component level through user acceptance testing, using both manual and automated approaches.
• Advance the team’s test automation practice by building and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Partner with business stakeholders and developers to gather requirements and translate them into thorough test cases.
• Review requirements to identify gaps and inconsistencies before development begins.
• Work with developers, business analysts, and fellow QA team members to identify, report, troubleshoot, and verify fixes for defects in a timely manner.
• Contribute to Agile Scrum ceremonies and to test metrics reporting, including test coverage and confidence measures.
• Lead and mentor other QA analysts, serving as a liaison between the engineering manager, analysts, and business teams.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Qualifications

• Hands-on experience performing manual smoke, sanity, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Proven ability to build and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop other QA team members in test automation.
• Five or more years of experience in software quality assurance, with knowledge of both white box and black box testing strategies.
• Three or more years of experience testing multi-tier client/server applications within an Agile development environment.
• Three or more years of experience in database testing, including reading, writing, and running SQL queries, plus the ability to create test data for data-intensive projects.
• Working knowledge of software architecture concepts, along with experience using Visual Studio Team System and Azure DevOps.
• Experience using an AI coding assistant is preferred.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with strong reasoning and a sense of ownership.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines and to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Compensation: $42-$52/hr. (DOE)
