Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join a growing technology team that supports high-volume, deadline-driven business operations. This role places a strong emphasis on back-end processes and blends new development with enhancement of existing systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on tester and a natural mentor who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute test plans and test cases, from component-level testing through user acceptance testing, using both manual and automated approaches.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
• Perform manual smoke, sanity, regression, and UAT testing to confirm that new and existing functionality is reliable and defect free.
• Coach and mentor fellow QA team members on automation testing, serving as a go-to resource and lead within the QA group.
• Partner with business stakeholders, developers, and analysts to gather requirements, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and shape thorough test coverage.
• Identify, report, and troubleshoot defects, then verify fixes promptly and accurately.
• Create test data and validate data using SQL queries, particularly on data-intensive projects.
• Contribute to test metrics and reporting, including test coverage and confidence measures.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software QA and testing, with a solid grasp of white box and black box strategies and test automation.
• Proven experience with manual smoke, sanity, regression, and UAT testing.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test scripts with Selenium or Playwright.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and guide other QA team members in automation practices.
• 3+ years of database testing experience, including reading, writing, and executing SQL queries at an intermediate level.
• 3+ years of experience testing multi-tier client/server applications within an Agile development environment.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Microsoft Visual Studio Team System, along with a strong understanding of software architecture concepts and terminology.
• Experience with an AI coding assistant is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, paired with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities under tight timelines, working independently or as part of a team.
• Leadership mindset with a drive for accountability and team success.

Compensation: $42-$52/hr. (DOE)
