Release Manager / Delivery Lead
Our client is seeking an experienced Release Manager / Delivery Lead to oversee the coordinated delivery of complex technology initiatives across multiple teams and workstreams. This individual will bring structure, visibility, and accountability to the delivery process, partnering across business, product, technology, quality, operations, and external teams to keep releases aligned and implementation-ready. The ideal candidate combines strong technical project leadership with excellent communication skills and the ability to proactively manage dependencies, risks, and competing priorities.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, or North Dakota. PST working hours are required.
Release Manager / Delivery Lead Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery coordination across concurrent technology projects, product teams, and interconnected workstreams.
- Develop and maintain an integrated near-term delivery roadmap that provides visibility into release dates, major milestones, dependencies, and commitments.
- Drive implementation readiness by coordinating technical and business activities, facilitating readiness assessments, and supporting release decision-making.
- Identify cross-team dependencies, delivery risks, resource constraints, and potential roadblocks early, driving resolution or escalation as appropriate.
- Coordinate testing and validation activities, including UAT schedules, defect remediation, required approvals, and other implementation prerequisites.
- Partner closely with product, business analysis, engineering, configuration, quality, operations, project teams, and third-party vendors throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide clear, concise reporting to leadership regarding delivery progress, upcoming releases, risks, outstanding decisions, and areas requiring attention.
- Ensure impacted business and operational stakeholders have appropriate visibility into upcoming changes, timelines, responsibilities, and implementation impacts.
- Maintain accurate delivery information within Jira and related tools, including milestones, dependencies, action items, and overall release status.
- Facilitate cross-functional delivery meetings, document decisions and commitments, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
- Support post-implementation reviews to identify recurring challenges, lessons learned, and opportunities to improve delivery practices.
Release Manager / Delivery Lead Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technology delivery, release management, technical project management, Agile delivery, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success coordinating complex technology implementations involving multiple teams, stakeholders, systems, and dependencies.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, software delivery lifecycles, release planning, and implementation readiness practices.
- Proven ability to manage milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and competing delivery priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive accountability across teams without direct reporting authority.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, and written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with senior leadership.
- Experience coordinating business acceptance testing, defect resolution, approvals, and other activities required to support successful technology releases.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or comparable project and delivery management platforms.
- Ability to balance detailed execution and problem-solving with broader delivery planning and executive-level reporting.
- Experience supporting healthcare technology, health plan operations, clinical systems, utilization management, payment integrity, or another regulated healthcare environment is preferred.
