IAM Security Architect
Our client is seeking an IAM Security Architect to guide the future of workforce identity and access for a fast-growing healthcare organization with a strong sense of purpose. This is a hands-on, senior-level individual contributor position with broad visibility. You will work alongside executives and technical leaders, set your own course, and build the vision from the ground up.

This role is a hybrid model. Applicants must be located in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, or North Dakota.

IAM Security Architect Responsibilities

• Shape a long-range vision and target-state architecture for workforce identity by meeting with partner teams, uncovering obstacles, and defining where the environment needs to go.
• Design and document architecture patterns, strategies, and roadmaps, and present them with confidence to senior leaders.
• Bring stakeholders with competing viewpoints together, guide discussions toward agreement, and turn varied input into a practical plan that earns broad support.
• Serve as the trusted identity and access authority across multiple technology and business teams.
• Plan ahead for significant growth by finding the processes and systems that will strain under much larger volume and fixing them early.
• Simplify access setup for new hires, from first-day accounts to role-based provisioning, while keeping security strong.
• Own the delivery of real solutions and keep designs grounded in how the business operates.
• Look for ways to improve existing processes and raise the efficiency of the broader architecture function.

IAM Security Architect Qualifications

• 8 or more years of focused experience in identity and access management, with expert command of modern authentication standards such as SAML, OIDC, and WebAuthn.
• Hands-on expertise with identity governance, privileged access, and directory platforms, such as SailPoint, CyberArk or Delinea, and Microsoft Entra.
• Experience securing identity in cloud environments, with AWS or Azure required and both preferred.
• Prior work in a regulated industry, ideally healthcare, though government or financial services is also valued.
• 10 or more years in IT, including time in security and at least 2 years leading technical efforts, whether on projects, within a team, or across the organization.
• Proven executive presence, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, move decisions forward, and earn trust without formal authority.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical topics for business audiences.
• Familiarity with industry security frameworks such as NIST CSF, HITRUST, and ISO 27001.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. An advanced degree is a plus.
• Genuine interest in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Salary: $140K-$175K/year. (DOE)
