Technical Project Manager
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Project Manager to support an enterprise application decommissioning program. This role serves as the primary coordinator for technology retirement efforts, partnering with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure requests are prioritized, tracked, and completed efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple initiatives while maintaining clear communication across a complex IT environment.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon.

Technical Project Manager Responsibilities

• Coordinate application decommissioning requests from initial intake through completion, ensuring requests are reviewed, prioritized, and routed appropriately.
• Evaluate incoming requests for completeness and work with the appropriate teams to facilitate timely execution.
• Create and manage work items within an IT service management platform, with BMC Remedy used as the primary tool.
• Partner with infrastructure, database, security, legal, sourcing, and delivery teams to coordinate activities and keep decommissioning efforts progressing.
• Facilitate meetings and working sessions to support complex decommissioning initiatives and drive project milestones.
• Maintain project dashboards and monitor the status of active decommissioning efforts, providing visibility into progress and outstanding work.
• Identify project risks, delays, and blockers, escalating issues to leadership when necessary.
• Communicate project updates and status with business owners, technical teams, and leadership to ensure alignment throughout each decommissioning effort.

Technical Project Manager Qualifications

• Four to six years of experience in project coordination, IT service management, or IT operations.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating work across multiple technical teams within a cross-functional IT environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts and competing priorities.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with IT service management tools, with BMC Remedy preferred or similar platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Experience maintaining project workplans, risk logs, issue logs, and status reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
• Experience supporting application or infrastructure retirement initiatives within a highly regulated enterprise environment and ITIL certification is preferred.
