Senior Software Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support high-volume, business-critical web applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript, Next.js, and SQL who can independently solve complex technical challenges, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript, Next.js, SQL, and related technologies.
• Build and optimize database solutions, including stored procedures, data structures, queries, and performance improvements.
• Participate throughout the Agile software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Develop reliable solutions for high-volume environments with a focus on application performance, maintainability, scalability, and quality.
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions, proactively identifying potential design, performance, or quality concerns.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools into day-to-day engineering activities, including analysis, solution design, coding, debugging, and workflow automation.
• Develop, deploy, and support applications within cloud environments, with an emphasis on Azure.
• Troubleshoot complex application and system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, technical partners, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to translate requirements into effective solutions.
• Mentor other software engineers, share technical expertise, and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Manage priorities independently and deliver high-quality work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Senior Software Engineer Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or comparable technologies.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications with Next.js.
• 5+ years of SQL development experience, including stored procedures, database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing and developing multi-tier applications supporting high-volume or business-critical systems.
• 3+ years of experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud environments; Azure experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience regularly using AI development tools to support software analysis, design, coding, debugging, and other engineering activities.
• Additional software development experience with languages such as C#, Java, or Python is preferred.
• Experience with infrastructure management, cloud infrastructure, or related platform technologies is preferred.
• Experience using AI agents, chained tasks, or automated AI workflows within software development environments is a plus.
• Experience with NoSQL database technologies is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address complex technical issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and nontechnical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, mentor colleagues, and contribute effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
• Advanced education or technical training in a related field is preferred.

Compensation: $70-$80/hr. (DOE)
