Product Line Manager
Our client is seeking a Product Line Manager to support the development and execution of innovative performance apparel products for a globally recognized sports and lifestyle brand. This role partners with cross-functional teams to guide products from initial concept through commercialization, ensuring they align with consumer insights, athlete needs, and business objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong product management experience, a passion for basketball culture, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Product Line Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product creation process for performance apparel, guiding products from concept through launch while ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Partner closely with design, merchandising, technical development, marketing, and regional teams to deliver innovative products that meet consumer and business objectives.
- Gather and incorporate feedback from global markets to refine product direction and support successful regional execution.
- Drive product reviews, cross-functional meetings, and strategic planning sessions while keeping stakeholders aligned throughout the development process.
- Balance athlete insights, consumer trends, and commercial opportunities to influence seasonal product strategies.
- Create presentations, product tools, and visual materials that communicate product vision and support decision-making across teams.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, fostering collaboration across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
- Navigate ambiguity by identifying clear paths forward, solving complex problems, and maintaining project momentum in a dynamic environment.
- Monitor industry, competitive, and market trends to help inform product decisions and identify new opportunities.
- Support domestic and international travel as needed to collaborate with partners and advance product initiatives.
Product Line Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Product Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product line management, or a related product creation role.
- Experience working with performance apparel products; experience in streetwear is also valued when paired with a strong passion for basketball.
- Strong understanding of basketball culture, consumer trends, and the competitive landscape within the athletic apparel industry.
- Proven ability to manage projects from concept through completion while coordinating multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience gathering regional or market feedback and translating insights into product improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence partners at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new processes, take initiative, and manage competing priorities.
- Previous experience within the athletic footwear, apparel, or sporting goods industry is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to approximately 30%, as business needs require.
Compensation: Up to $56/hr. (DOE)
