SOX Compliance Analyst
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative SOX Compliance Analyst to support internal control initiatives and strengthen financial reporting processes across the organization. This individual will thrive in a cross-functional environment, bringing strong analytical thinking, process improvement capabilities, and the ability to balance compliance requirements with business objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and is passionate about driving operational excellence.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
SOX Compliance Analyst Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to develop, document, and enhance internal controls and compliance processes.
- Create and maintain process documentation, including narratives, flowcharts, risk assessments, and control matrices.
- Identify control design gaps and assist with remediation efforts to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Support control owners through training, guidance, and preparation of audit-ready documentation and evidence.
- Participate in control walkthroughs and collaborate with internal and external auditors during compliance reviews.
SOX Compliance Analyst Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting, audit, compliance, or internal controls experience, with exposure to SOX programs.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, internal controls, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance requirements.
- Proven project management, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working cross-functionally and leveraging tools such as Excel, reporting systems, ERP platforms, or similar business applications; SAP experience is a plus.
Compensation: $50-$75/hr. (DOE)
