Controller
Our client is seeking a Controller to serve as a strategic bridge between finance, operations, and technology teams. This individual will combine strong accounting and controlling expertise with systems knowledge to support complex business initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and ensure financial integrity across critical processes. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments, can independently lead high-impact workstreams, and excels at translating business needs into scalable solutions.

This role is a hybrid model in Detroit, Michigan.

Controller Responsibilities

• Lead finance-related workstreams for ERP, warehouse management, and business systems initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial controls, reporting requirements, and operational objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize inventory, distribution, and supply chain processes while improving data accuracy and financial visibility.
• Analyze business processes and system performance to identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost savings, and enhanced financial controls.
• Support system testing, validation, and implementation activities, including user acceptance testing, process reviews, and issue resolution.
• Provide financial and operational analysis related to inventory performance, cost drivers, reconciliations, and process efficiency while managing multiple concurrent projects.

Controller Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced certifications or graduate-level education are preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, controlling, financial systems, or business analysis roles supporting manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain operations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including inventory accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience working with enterprise ERP platforms such as SAP or similar systems, including an understanding of finance and controlling processes within integrated business environments.
• Proven ability to lead independent workstreams on complex projects, communicate effectively across technical and business teams, and drive process improvement initiatives.

Compensation: $60-$70/hr. (DOE)
