Payroll Manager
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-state environment and enjoys balancing payroll operations with cross-functional financial collaboration. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency while serving as a trusted resource to employees and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to payroll administration.

This role is on-site in Tualatin, Oregon.

Payroll Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll execution.
  • Manage payroll-related accounting activities, including reconciliations, reporting, journal entries, and coordination with finance teams.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax and labor regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll systems, vendors, employees, and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, reporting, and internal controls.

Payroll Manager Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience supporting complex, multi-state payroll operations.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll administration, payroll tax regulations, reconciliations, deductions, garnishments, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing full-cycle payroll processes and partnering closely with accounting and finance teams.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.

Compensation: $38-$45/hour. (DOE)
