Clinical Intake Analyst
Our client is seeking a Clinical Intake Analyst to serve as the first point of contact for incoming clinical documentation and requests. In this role, you will receive, organize, and route work for multiple clinical operations teams while protecting member privacy and meeting strict turnaround expectations.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, or North Dakota and able to work PST hours.
Clinical Intake Analyst Responsibilities
- Review and sort incoming documents for utilization management, case management, disease management, and provider and member appeals.
- Determine the nature of each inquiry and assign it to the correct team and workflow.
- Research documents using the appropriate systems and tools, applying knowledge of member benefits and clinical processes.
- Scan and index documentation into the system in accordance with HIPAA and privacy requirements.
- Manage a high daily volume of requests, prioritizing and multitasking while escalating questions when needed.
- Distribute work so that all items are completed within required timeframes.
- Follow department standards for quality, timeliness, and procedures.
- Provide coverage for urgent and expedited appeals on long weekends to help the department meet service commitments.
- Perform general administrative duties, including ordering supplies, tracking inventory, maintaining files, arranging equipment repairs, and assisting with outgoing mail.
Clinical Intake Analyst Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with general office experience, plus 1 year of health plan customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare benefits, systems, and documentation.
- Ability to review clinical documents and direct them to the appropriate party for resolution.
- Ability to work in multiple healthcare systems at the same time.
- Proven ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve operational standards with limited supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and quickly learn, retain, and apply new or changing information and processes.
- Strong data entry, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research.
- Clear verbal communication and solid writing skills.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work well within a team.
Compensation: $20-$22/hr. (DOE)
