Bridgeport Machinist
Our client is seeking an experienced Bridgeport Machinist to independently produce precision parts in a hands-on machining environment. The ideal candidate brings strong CNC machining fundamentals, excellent mechanical judgment, and the ability to take complex or non-standard work from print through finished part while maintaining tight quality standards.

This role is on-site in Hillsboro, Oregon working from Monday-Thursday 6AM to 4:30PM.

Bridgeport Machinist Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Prototrak-equipped bed mills to machine precision components from start to finish.
• Determine machining strategies for complex and custom parts, including operation sequencing, tooling, feeds, speeds, and workholding requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and work instructions to consistently meet dimensional requirements.
• Design, build, and modify fixtures, soft jaws, custom jaws, and other workholding or tooling solutions as needed.
• Inspect completed work using precision measuring equipment and partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve discrepancies, perform rework or repairs, and maintain required tolerances.
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment while following established machining, quality, and safety procedures.
• Perform additional machining and production-related duties as needed.

Bridgeport Machinist Qualifications

• 5 or more years of CNC machining experience, with the ability to independently set up, program, and machine parts with minimal supervision.
• Strong proficiency with Prototrak controls or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and become proficient with the platform.
• Strong knowledge of machining fundamentals, including feeds and speeds, cutting tools, workholding, setup techniques, and machining best practices.
• Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and technical work instructions.
• Proficiency with precision inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Dependable and self-directed, with a strong work ethic, consistent attendance, and effective communication and collaboration skills.

Compensation: $28-$32/hr + Bonus. (DOE)
