CNC Horizontal Machinist
Our client is seeking a CNC Horizontal Machinist to join their precision manufacturing team. This individual will play a key role in producing high-quality machined components by operating CNC equipment, performing in-process inspections, and supporting efficient production in a safety-focused environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative manufacturing setting where quality and consistency are top priorities.

This role is on-site in Hillsboro, Oregon working Monday-Thursday from 6AM-4:30PM.

CNC Horizontal Machinist Responsibilities

• Operate CNC horizontal machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to established programs, setup documentation, and production specifications.
• Inspect parts throughout the machining process using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall quality.
• Load raw materials, secure fixtures, confirm tooling is properly installed, and make routine machine adjustments including tool offsets and wear compensation.
• Monitor equipment performance during production, identify machining or quality concerns, and communicate issues involving tooling, machine alarms, or dimensional variances.
• Perform secondary manufacturing tasks such as deburring, tapping, cleaning, and finishing parts as required.
• Complete production documentation, inspection records, and part counts while supporting established quality control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety practices and assisting with additional production activities as needed.

CNC Horizontal Machinist Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of experience operating CNC machining equipment, including horizontal machining centers or similar production machinery.
• Working knowledge of machining fundamentals and the ability to interpret and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Experience using precision inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Ability to perform basic machine adjustments and safely operate common shop equipment, including lifting devices and production tools.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work in a production environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with coworkers and maintaining reliable attendance.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift materials up to 50 pounds while working safely in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment with required personal protective equipment.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work overtime when needed to support production schedules.

Compensation: $28-$35/hr. (DOE)
