Field Engineer
Our client is seeking a Field Engineer to serve as the technical expert in customer-facing engagements, working closely with the sales organization. In this role, you will represent engineering during customer meetings, evaluations, and site surveys, and bring field insights back to the design team to shape the right solution. This position involves regular travel across a multi-state Pacific Northwest territory, with a collaborative onsite presence when not on the road.

This role is a hybrid model with frequent travel. Applicants residing in the Portland, Oregon area are preferred.

Field Engineer Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical subject matter expert during customer meetings, sales presentations, and solution-development discussions.
• Partner with sales representatives to support customer engagements across multiple industries.
• Conduct technical evaluations and fluid system assessments, including on-site system surveys.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and consult customers on best practices.
• Support leak detection and safety evaluations.
• Gather field requirements and communicate them to Application Engineers to drive solution design.
• Provide customer training and technical guidance as needed.
• Respond to urgent customer support needs, including emergency situations.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships throughout the territory.

Field Engineer Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills, with a consultative approach to solving problems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule driven by customer needs.
• Comfortable with travel of up to 50%, including day trips and multi-day trips.
• Ability to support and learn multiple industries and applications.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with customers and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Willingness to complete manufacturer-provided certification training, along with strong learning agility.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Salary: $115K-$120K/year. (DOE)
