Senior Manufacturing Process Planner
Our client is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Planner to translate engineering requirements into accurate, production-ready manufacturing plans within a complex aerospace environment. This role is ideal for an experienced, hands-on planner who can work independently across engineering and production teams, solve manufacturing data and process challenges, and identify practical ways to improve how work moves from design through the shop floor.

This role is on-site in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Senior Manufacturing Process Planner Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing bills of material (mBOMs), routings, work instructions, and related ERP production data to support aircraft manufacturing.
• Translate engineering bills of material, drawings, specifications, and process requirements into accurate and executable manufacturing plans.
• Ensure production work orders accurately capture operation sequences, materials, tooling, process requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
• Incorporate engineering changes into manufacturing plans while maintaining revision control, effectivity, configuration integrity, and product traceability.
• Reconcile engineering and manufacturing BOM structures and resolve discrepancies between engineering requirements, ERP records, and actual shop-floor processes.
• Investigate manufacturing planning and production data issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Configuration Management to ensure production readiness and resolve build-related issues.
• Evaluate existing planning methods and recommend improvements that simplify processes, increase data accuracy, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing planning, ERP/MRP processes, work instructions, and production execution.
• Provide experienced technical guidance and influence cross-functional stakeholders to drive planning decisions and process improvements.

Senior Manufacturing Process Planner Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, manufacturing engineering, production planning, ERP manufacturing data management, or a closely related function within a complex manufacturing environment.
• Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience, with a strong understanding of aircraft production processes and regulated manufacturing requirements.
• Strong experience working within ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, or comparable platforms, including mBOMs, routings, work orders, and manufacturing data structures.
• Demonstrated ability to translate engineering BOMs, drawings, and technical requirements into executable manufacturing plans and production documentation.
• Experience with engineering change implementation, configuration management, revision control, effectivity, and product traceability.
• Experience reconciling engineering and manufacturing BOM structures; familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter or comparable platforms is preferred.
• Hands-on understanding of shop-floor manufacturing operations, production sequencing, tooling, material requirements, and build constraints.
• Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve gaps between documented processes and actual production execution.
• Ability to work effectively across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other technical teams while influencing decisions without direct authority.
• Self-directed and adaptable approach, with the judgment to work through ambiguity, use available resources, and identify opportunities to streamline or improve established processes.
• Knowledge of AS9100 or similar regulated quality environments, MRP processes, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or digital work instructions is preferred.
• Technical degree in engineering, manufacturing, aviation, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse technical teams and international stakeholders.

Salary: $75K-$85K/year + Bonus. (DOE)
