Business Systems Analyst
Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join a team building intelligent, data-driven agent capabilities. This role blends system and data analysis to shape the semantic foundation that powers analytics agents. The ideal candidate is a healthcare payer expert with strong SQL and Snowflake skills and the independence to turn raw data into clear, documented business logic.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, North Dakota, or Arkansas.

Business Systems Analyst Responsibilities

• Analyze systems and data to support the design and development of analytics agents and the semantic models behind them.
• Build and refine semantic views and layers in Snowflake, curating the business context that agents depend on.
• Define healthcare payer metrics consistently and accurately, often with limited SME guidance.
• Profile and validate source data to uncover underlying business logic, and document assumptions and findings clearly.
• Support the development and tuning of Snowflake Cortex Analyst/Agent solutions or similar data agents.
• Partner with engineers to capture institutional knowledge and turn it into well-documented requirements and definitions.
• Refine semantic definitions over time as understanding of the data and business grows.
• Document requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications for the team.
• Contribute to QA by validating results against expected business outcomes.
• Share status, findings, and risks with teammates and business partners in a timely manner.

Business Systems Analyst Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive business or systems analysis experience, consistent with a senior-level role.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries against large datasets.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience, including modeling and building semantic views or layers.
• Deep expertise in healthcare payer data, including claims, enrollment and membership, provider, and premium data.
• Working knowledge of healthcare cost and utilization measures, such as PMPM, paid vs. allowed amounts, and medical loss ratio, along with reserving and risk adjustment concepts.
• Experience supporting Snowflake Cortex Analyst/Agent or comparable data agent development.
• Proven ability to profile and validate data and to derive business rules from raw sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with engineers and business stakeholders.
• Self-directed, with the ability to manage your own work with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with Agile and other development methodologies, including writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
