Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to help ensure the quality and reliability of complex, high-volume software solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional who is equally comfortable performing hands-on manual testing and developing automated test coverage, while also serving as a technical resource and mentor to other QA team members. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive manual testing, including smoke, sanity, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, to validate new and existing application functionality.
• Build, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, or comparable automation technologies.
• Serve as a senior QA resource by coaching team members on automation practices, testing strategies, and quality standards.
• Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios across front-end, back-end, and data-intensive application workflows.
• Partner with software engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements, identify testing needs, and uncover gaps or inconsistencies.
• Use SQL queries to validate data, perform database testing, troubleshoot issues, and create or prepare test data as needed.
• Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot software defects while working closely with development teams to verify timely resolution.
• Contribute to test coverage, quality metrics, and reporting that provide visibility into application readiness and overall testing confidence.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Balance testing across new development and existing applications while independently managing multiple priorities and deadline-driven deliverables.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Qualifications

• 5+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience, including strong hands-on manual testing and test automation experience.
• Demonstrated experience with smoke, sanity, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, or similar tools.
• Experience mentoring or coaching QA professionals on automated testing techniques, frameworks, and best practices.
• 3+ years of database testing experience with the ability to write and execute SQL queries, validate data, and create test data.
• 3+ years of experience working within Agile software development environments and participating in Scrum-based delivery processes.
• Experience testing multi-tier applications and a solid understanding of software architecture, development frameworks, and back-end processes.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, or comparable development and test management platforms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and deductive reasoning skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently, collaborate across technical and business teams, and manage multiple priorities within tight timelines.

Compensation: $42-$52/hr. (DOE)
