Healthcare Program Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Healthcare Program Manager to lead complex, enterprise-wide healthcare initiatives that improve operational performance, enhance the member experience, and support high-quality clinical outcomes. This role partners with executive sponsors and cross-functional teams to drive strategic programs from planning through implementation, using data-driven insights, strong stakeholder engagement, and continuous process improvement to achieve measurable results.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho.
Healthcare Program Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and ongoing management of complex healthcare programs, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Partner with executive leadership, clinical teams, operations, technology, finance, and external vendors to establish priorities, coordinate resources, and achieve program goals.
- Develop program strategies, work plans, governance processes, timelines, performance metrics, and reporting to monitor progress and support informed decision-making.
- Identify program risks, dependencies, and opportunities while proactively implementing solutions that keep initiatives on track and drive successful outcomes.
- Analyze operational, financial, and clinical data to identify improvement opportunities, develop business cases, and recommend strategic enhancements.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through ongoing performance measurement, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement efforts to support successful adoption of new processes and program initiatives.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, documentation, and status updates that clearly communicate program progress, key findings, and recommendations.
- Support the development and refinement of healthcare strategies, operational processes, and program governance as organizational priorities evolve.
- Provide education, guidance, and implementation support to internal teams and business partners throughout the program lifecycle.
Healthcare Program Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of program and/or project management experience within healthcare, health insurance, clinical operations, or another large, complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical programs, healthcare terminology, and industry trends; clinical program experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, risks, and competing deadlines.
- Experience developing program metrics, dashboards, reporting, and performance evaluation methodologies to measure effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, develop actionable recommendations, and build compelling business cases.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present information to executive leadership.
- Proven ability to establish productive partnerships with internal teams, external vendors, and business partners to achieve shared objectives.
- Experience leveraging project management methodologies, operational metrics, and financial concepts to support strategic program delivery.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools and technologies that improve productivity, analysis, reporting, or business decision-making is highly desirable.
