Senior Business Analyst
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support strategic initiatives focused on business process improvement, operational efficiency, and technology solutions within a complex healthcare environment. This role is ideal for an analytical professional who excels at translating business needs into actionable solutions, partnering with cross-functional teams, and driving meaningful process enhancements across enterprise systems.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must be located in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho and must work PST hours.

Senior Business Analyst Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis activities for complex projects by gathering requirements, evaluating current processes, and recommending scalable solutions that improve operational performance.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to facilitate requirements sessions, document workflows, perform gap analyses, and support solution design from concept through implementation.
  • Analyze and optimize healthcare appeals and grievances processes, including intake, review, and correspondence workflows, while identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain business documentation, process maps, test plans, business cases, dashboards, and executive presentations to support project delivery and organizational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project teams, developers, architects, and leadership to manage project priorities, support acceptance testing, monitor progress, and ensure successful delivery of business initiatives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through data analysis, financial modeling, and process improvement efforts while supporting governance, budgeting, and portfolio planning activities.
  • Mentor and coach business analysts, lead cross-functional meetings, and contribute to the adoption of best practices in business analysis, Agile methodologies, and process improvement.

Senior Business Analyst Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in business analysis, business process improvement, systems analysis, requirements gathering, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting end-to-end healthcare appeals and grievances processes, including intake, review, and letter generation.
  • Hands-on experience with two or more healthcare applications supporting appeals and grievances, such as Availity, Facets, Epic, MHK, CCA, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong expertise in business process modeling, requirements documentation, gap analysis, workflow mapping, testing, and stakeholder facilitation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other business analysis tools used to create documentation, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
  • Experience applying formal process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or similar frameworks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with process automation, AI-enabled business solutions, or intelligent workflow technologies is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, leadership, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
