Sunquest Analyst – Testing Consultant
Our client is seeking a Sunquest Analyst – Testing Consultant to support a critical laboratory information system upgrade initiative. This role will partner closely with laboratory operations, technical teams, and vendor stakeholders to ensure thorough testing, validation, and deployment readiness across complex laboratory workflows. The ideal candidate brings strong Sunquest expertise, a detail-oriented approach to quality assurance, and the ability to navigate regulated healthcare environments while maintaining clear communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

This role is fully remote.

Sunquest Analyst – Testing Consultant Responsibilities

• Lead testing and validation activities for a laboratory information system upgrade, including test planning, script development, execution, and results analysis.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and workflow testing across laboratory disciplines, including Core Laboratory, Blood Bank, and Microbiology operations.
• Validate laboratory configurations, orderable structures, result workflows, reference ranges, instrument interfaces, and downstream system integrations.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution while collaborating with technical teams, laboratory stakeholders, and vendor partners.
• Ensure testing activities meet regulatory, accreditation, and organizational compliance standards, including validation documentation and audit readiness requirements.
• Partner with laboratory subject matter experts to verify that system workflows accurately support clinical operations and patient care processes.
• Support testing cycles, issue triage sessions, project status meetings, and validation sign-off activities.
• Maintain detailed documentation of testing outcomes, risks, remediation efforts, and overall project progress.

Sunquest Analyst – Testing Consultant Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Sunquest Laboratory Information Systems, preferably within Clinisys Sunquest environments.
• Strong background in LIS testing, validation, quality assurance, and structured testing methodologies.
• Experience supporting laboratory system upgrades, implementations, or major enhancement projects.
• Working knowledge of laboratory workflows, including Core Laboratory, Blood Bank, and/or Microbiology operations.
• Hands-on experience testing laboratory instruments, interfaces, middleware solutions, and integrated healthcare applications.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools, issue management processes, and validation documentation best practices.
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory and accreditation requirements, including CAP and CLIA standards.
• Experience supporting multi-site laboratory environments or Sunquest upgrade initiatives is highly preferred.
• Blood Bank testing and validation experience is strongly preferred.
