Software Asset Manager
Our client is seeking a Software Asset Manager to oversee software licensing, compliance, and asset optimization across a complex global enterprise environment. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, deep knowledge of enterprise licensing practices, and the ability to collaborate across technology, procurement, legal, finance, and other business functions.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Software Asset Manager Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of enterprise software assets, including acquisition, deployment, license management, optimization, renewal, and retirement.
• Oversee licensing and compliance for major enterprise software publishers, including Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, IBM, and SAP, while supporting software audits and true-up activities.
• Maintain and improve software asset management capabilities within ServiceNow SAM Pro or comparable platforms, ensuring reliable entitlement, discovery, usage, and consumption data.
• Analyze software utilization and licensing data to identify cost-saving opportunities, reduce unused licenses, and recommend optimization strategies.
• Partner with procurement, legal, finance, security, architecture, and technology teams on software agreements, renewals, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Develop and maintain software asset management policies, controls, and processes designed to reduce licensing and operational risk.
• Create dashboards, reports, and actionable insights to support software governance, financial planning, and technology decision-making.
• Work across multiple teams and business areas to ensure enterprise software is appropriately licensed, governed, and aligned with organizational standards.

Software Asset Manager Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, Software Licensing Management, or a closely related discipline within a global enterprise environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing models and hands-on experience managing major publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, IBM, and SAP.
• Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow, or similar software asset management and license optimization platforms.
• Demonstrated understanding of software compliance, license agreements, audit response processes, and software asset governance.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to translate complex licensing and usage data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across technical and non-technical functions.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management certification is preferred.
• ITAM/SAM certifications, such as CSAM, CITAM, or ISO 19770-related credentials, are preferred.
• Experience supporting software audits, true-up negotiations, enterprise software procurement, or vendor management is a plus.

Compensation: Up to $68.67/hr. (DOE)
