Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant who brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to a fast-paced financial environment. The ideal candidate is highly analytical and detail-oriented while maintaining a big-picture perspective, with the ability to manage deadlines, solve complex accounting issues, and continuously improve processes.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities
- Support month-end close and financial reporting activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Manage accounting activities related to payroll, employee benefits, accruals, estimates, and reserves.
- Research technical accounting matters, prepare supporting documentation, and contribute to the development and application of accounting policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, regulatory reporting, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, accuracy, and efficiency while supporting additional projects as needed.
Senior Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience; CPA and public accounting experience are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with demonstrated experience researching, interpreting, and applying technical accounting guidance.
- Experience with ERP/general ledger systems and reconciliation tools; SAP and BlackLine experience are preferred.
- Advanced analytical and computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets and other financial reporting or database applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, project coordination, and time-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and meet deadlines.
Compensation: $50-$75/hr. (DOE)
