Controller
Our client is seeking an experienced Controller who combines strong financial leadership with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities, guide accounting staff, and leverage technology to improve financial processes in a fast-paced environment.
This role is a hybrid model in the Tigard, Oregon area.
Controller Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and prepare accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reporting.
- Oversee core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial record accuracy.
- Support financial system and reporting enhancements by developing new month-end reports, improving workflows, and ensuring reliable data during technology transitions.
- Analyze financial results, identify potential risks and process gaps, and provide meaningful reporting and insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decisions.
- Lead and develop accounting staff through performance management, constructive feedback, workload oversight, and support with hiring and staffing needs.
Controller Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience and at least 2 years in a comparable leadership-level role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP with the ability to independently research accounting and tax guidance and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong technology aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Self-motivated and adaptable professional with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Salary: $120K-$140K/year + Bonus. (DOE)
