Senior Audit Associate
Our client is seeking a Senior Audit Associate to lead assurance engagements while building strong relationships with clients and supporting the development of junior team members. The ideal candidate is a confident, organized, and collaborative audit professional who enjoys taking ownership of engagements, balancing multiple priorities, and working in a hands-on environment that offers both autonomy and opportunities for continued career growth.

This role is a hybrid model in the Portland, Oregon area.

Senior Audit Associate Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion, coordinating schedules, fieldwork, staffing needs, and deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, maintaining clear communication, managing requests, and keeping engagements progressing as planned.
  • Review audit workpapers and deliverables, evaluate internal controls and risk areas, and ensure work complies with applicable professional standards.
  • Coach and mentor junior audit staff by providing technical guidance, reviewing work, and delivering constructive feedback.
  • Research accounting and auditing matters and contribute to improved audit procedures, documentation, best practices, and engagement-management processes.

Senior Audit Associate Qualifications

  • 3-4+ years of recent public accounting experience in audit or assurance, including demonstrated experience leading engagements at the Senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, financial statement auditing, internal controls, and core assurance procedures.
  • CPA preferred; candidates who are not licensed must be CPA eligible and actively pursuing certification.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements, priorities, deadlines, and team members simultaneously.
  • Strong client-facing, leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior professionals and appropriately escalate complex technical matters.

Salary: $80K–$110K/year.(DOE)
