Project Accountant
Our client, a leading-edge sustainability consulting firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to own billing and invoicing across a high-volume project portfolio. This is a great fit for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, systems-driven environment and enjoys being the quality-control backbone that keeps client billing accurate and on schedule. This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Project Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate invoices across a high volume of active projects, managing both time-and-materials and lump-sum billing structures.
- Maintain billing terms, contract amendments, and subconsultant invoices within their system and various client portals.
- Partner closely with Project Managers to review draft invoices, supporting documentation, and backup reports.
- Submit invoices through multiple client billing portals, tracking approvals, rejections, and revisions to ensure compliance with each client’s specific requirements.
- Support accounts receivable review, collections coordination, and project opening/closing in alignment with contract terms.
Project Accountant Qualifications
- 3+ years of project accounting experience, ideally within a consulting, engineering, or professional services environment.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume, complex invoicing across varying contract types and client requirements.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and Microsoft Excel strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort navigating systems in flux, with the flexibility to adapt as processes evolve.
- Excellent communication and customer-service orientation, with a team-first, detail-driven approach to work.
Salary: $70K-$85K/year. (DOE)
