Audit Senior
Our client is seeking an Audit Senior to join their growing team. This is a great fit for a detail-oriented assurance professional who pairs strong technical skills with a commitment to client service and developing others. You will lead audit, review, and attest engagements from planning through completion, with real opportunities to build client relationships and grow toward leadership and ownership.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Audit Senior Responsibilities
- Serve as the in-charge on audit, review, and attest engagements, directing day-to-day fieldwork from planning through completion in accordance with U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and firm standards.
- Review staff workpapers, financial statements, and client deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards.
- Manage engagement budgets and timelines by tracking hours, resolving scheduling conflicts, and communicating scope changes.
- Research and resolve accounting, auditing, and financial reporting issues, using sound professional judgment to reach well-supported conclusions.
- Build strong client relationships by keeping clients informed, answering questions promptly, and explaining findings and recommendations clearly.
- Coach, mentor, and give regular feedback to staff, delegating work to support their development.
- Partner with tax, advisory, outsourced accounting, and consulting teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Offer practical suggestions on internal controls, financial reporting, and operational efficiency, and flag opportunities for additional services.
- Support firm initiatives such as recruiting, onboarding, training, and process improvement.
Audit Senior Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of recent public accounting experience in audit, assurance, or attest services, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting requirements.
- CPA license preferred, or actively pursuing certification.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff, lead engagement teams, and manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, deadlines, and client expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency with audit and working paper software (such as CaseWare), Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
Salary: $85K-$106K/year. (DOE)
