Senior Tax Manager (Manufacturing)
Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of manufacturing clients while providing strategic tax guidance, strengthening client relationships, and helping grow a thriving manufacturing practice. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced public accounting professional who combines deep technical expertise with executive presence, business development skills, and a passion for mentoring high-performing teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional client service, developing future leaders, and contributing to the firm’s long-term growth.

This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.

Senior Tax Manager Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary tax advisor for a portfolio of manufacturing clients, delivering strategic tax planning, compliance, and consulting services across complex federal, state, and multi-state engagements.
• Lead multiple client engagements while overseeing project planning, budgeting, staffing, quality reviews, and timely delivery of high-quality work.
• Build and maintain executive-level client relationships, identify opportunities to expand services, and contribute to the continued growth of the manufacturing practice.
• Mentor, coach, and develop managers and senior staff through performance management, technical guidance, recruiting, and succession planning.
• Provide technical expertise on manufacturing-specific tax matters, including inventory accounting, depreciation strategies, tax credits, and other complex corporate and partnership tax issues.

Senior Tax Manager Qualifications

• Active CPA license with 7+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including significant manufacturing client expertise.
• Extensive knowledge of corporate and partnership taxation, multi-state tax compliance, tax research, and manufacturing-related tax planning strategies.
• Proven experience leading complex client engagements, supervising managers, and delivering strategic guidance to executive stakeholders.
• Strong business development, relationship management, and cross-selling skills with the ability to grow and retain client portfolios.
• Executive presence, exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor teams while contributing to long-term firm growth and leadership initiatives.

Salary: $135K-$200K/year. (DOE)
