Senior Planning Financial Analyst
Our client is seeking a Senior Planning Financial Analyst to support strategic financial planning, forecasting, and business decision-making within a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and business-minded professional with strong financial modeling expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams, navigate complex challenges, and translate financial data into meaningful business insights.

This role is on-site in Houston, Texas.

Senior Planning Financial Analyst Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, long-term business planning, and strategic investment decisions.
• Analyze financial performance, business trends, project economics, and potential investment opportunities to support informed decision-making.
• Prepare financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for leadership, including scenario analyses and long-range financial projections.
• Support capital planning, financing strategies, fundraising initiatives, and mergers and acquisitions through financial modeling and valuation analysis.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, maintain forecasting systems, and support strategic business objectives.

Senior Planning Financial Analyst Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with an MBA or advanced finance credential strongly preferred.
• At least six years of experience in financial planning, financial modeling, investment banking, or a related analytical role, preferably within the energy or utilities industry.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling, with VBA and Oracle EPM experience preferred.
• Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to evaluate complex financial information and identify meaningful business opportunities.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Must also meet applicable Department of Energy eligibility requirements under 10 CFR Part 810.

Salary: $120K-$144K/year. (DOE)
