Staff Accountant
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a broad range of general accounting activities across a growing organization. The ideal candidate brings strong month-end close and general ledger experience, takes ownership of their work, and is naturally curious about how processes can be improved. This role is a hybrid model in Tualatin, Oregon.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting activities across multiple entities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, prepaids, account reconciliations, and other month-end close responsibilities.
- Support an efficient monthly close process by completing balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and consolidation-related activities accurately and on schedule.
- Assist with financial reporting, maintain supporting accounting documentation, and respond to external audit requests while adhering to established accounting policies and internal controls.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, standardize reconciliations, strengthen controls, and improve the use of ERP system functionality.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed and collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and other business partners.
Staff Accountant Qualifications
- 2–5 years of progressive general accounting experience, with hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, journal entries, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepaids.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems; Oracle NetSuite experience and an interest in maximizing system capabilities are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated process improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies, improve accounting workflows, and take proactive ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines, collaborate across functions, and thrive in a growing environment; manufacturing or consumer products industry experience is preferred.
Salary: $85K-$89K/year. (DOE)
