Retail Inventory Analyst
Our client is seeking a Retail Inventory Analyst to support merchandise planning, business performance analysis, and future assortment strategies across a large-scale retail organization. This individual will combine strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with effective communication to identify trends, provide actionable insights, and keep key stakeholders informed. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, working cross-functionally, and translating data into meaningful business recommendations.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Retail Inventory Analyst Responsibilities
- Analyze merchandise performance, consumer demand, sales trends, and inventory data to identify business opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.
- Support seasonal and long-range merchandise planning by translating business insights into assortment, demand, and investment recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain reporting, scorecards, dashboards, and business updates while communicating key findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner with merchandising, finance, sales, planning, and other business teams to align merchandise strategies with broader organizational priorities.
- Evaluate product and category performance to help inform future assortments, product investments, and evolving merchandise strategies.
- Support recurring business reviews and planning discussions by consolidating complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Contribute to projects focused on future merchandise plans, reporting improvements, analytical frameworks, and planning processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting and decision-making through enhanced tools, automation, and emerging technologies.
Retail Inventory Analyst Qualifications
- 3–5 years of direct merchandise planning experience preferred, ideally within a retail or consumer-focused environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to interpret business performance and translate findings into recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively share insights and updates with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with merchandise, sales, inventory, or other business performance data.
- Self-motivated and comfortable independently managing priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Broader merchandising or retail experience beyond merchandise planning is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, automation, or emerging technologies used to enhance analysis and reporting is a plus.
Compensation: Up to $42.25/hr. (DOE)
