Learning Experience Designer
Our client is seeking a Learning Experience Designer to create engaging, accessible, and effective digital learning experiences for a healthcare operations environment. This role is ideal for an experienced eLearning professional who combines strong instructional design expertise with hands-on development skills and can translate complex information into polished, self-paced learning experiences.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, or North Dakota. PST working hours are required.
Learning Experience Designer Responsibilities
- Design and develop interactive, asynchronous eLearning courses and self-paced learning experiences using Articulate Storyline, Rise, and other digital authoring tools.
- Partner with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to assess learning needs, translate complex content into effective training, and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
- Create and edit video tutorials, demonstrations, and other multimedia learning content using Camtasia or similar tools.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create experiences that support knowledge retention, skill development, and behavior change.
- Upload, organize, maintain, and manage digital learning content within a Learning Management System, preferably Workday Learning.
- Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, balancing changing priorities while meeting established timelines and quality expectations.
- Incorporate visual design, audio, video, typography, and other multimedia elements to enhance learner engagement and comprehension.
- Evaluate learning solutions for effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to strengthen future programs.
- Apply accessibility considerations and established digital learning standards when developing course content.
- Explore emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve learning development processes, productivity, and the learner experience.
Learning Experience Designer Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional eLearning development or digital instructional design experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Articulate Storyline and Rise, with a portfolio demonstrating completed eLearning projects.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and approaches for creating effective self-paced learning.
- Proficiency with Camtasia or comparable tools for recording, editing, and producing video-based learning content.
- Experience working within a Learning Management System; Workday Learning experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess learning needs and determine appropriate solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience within healthcare, health insurance, or another complex regulated environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and accessible eLearning development practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI tools and their application to learning content development and workplace productivity is a plus.
