Production Planner/Scheduler
Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Production Planner/Scheduler to coordinate production schedules, material requirements, and manufacturing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing planning experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to address shortages, capacity constraints, and changing production needs.
This role is on-site in Clackamas, Oregon.
Production Planner/Scheduler Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the master production schedule, adjusting priorities and timelines to support manufacturing requirements and on-time delivery.
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) and material requirements to identify potential shortages, coordinate expediting efforts, and ensure materials are available to support scheduled production.
- Plan, release, and monitor production work orders, proactively addressing schedule delays, capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and other issues affecting workflow.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Operations to coordinate long-lead materials, engineering changes, quality issues, inventory discrepancies, and evolving customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate planning information within ERP/MRP systems and support continuous improvement initiatives designed to strengthen scheduling, inventory accuracy, and overall production efficiency.
- Perform additional operational responsibilities and special projects as needed while adhering to established safety, quality, and organizational requirements.
Production Planner/Scheduler Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on experience in production planning, production scheduling, or master scheduling.
- Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, with demonstrated experience managing production schedules, material requirements, inventory considerations, and manufacturing priorities.
- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change documentation, deviations, technical specifications, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain data accuracy, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related discipline preferred; experience within capital equipment or complex manufacturing environments is also preferred.
Salary: $60K-$75K/year. (DOE)
