Operations Expert / Process Engineer
Our client is seeking an Operations Expert / Process Engineer to drive process optimization, automation initiatives, and operational excellence across manufacturing and quality functions. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges through automation, data analysis, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate across multiple departments to enhance efficiency, maintain quality standards, and support the implementation of innovative manufacturing solutions.
This role is on-site in Beaverton, Oregon.
Operations Expert / Process Engineer Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement and automation initiatives involving industrial automation, robotics, mechatronics, and manufacturing systems.
- Design, troubleshoot, and optimize automated equipment utilizing PLCs, sensors, encoders, inclinometers, stepper motors, and electrical control systems.
- Analyze production processes and operational data to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, quality improvements, and cost reduction.
- Oversee inspection activities, data collection, reporting, and equipment operation to ensure compliance with quality and customer requirements.
- Develop, update, and improve operational procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities between production, quality, scheduling, vendors, and other business stakeholders.
- Monitor workflows, schedules, inventory movement, and production metrics to support smooth daily operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, process, and operational issues while implementing corrective actions.
- Support project planning, implementation, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
- Contribute to organizational initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, delivery performance, and overall operational effectiveness.
Operations Expert / Process Engineer Qualifications
- Experience in industrial automation, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, robotics, or mechatronics environments.
- Strong working knowledge of PLC programming, automation controls, sensors, encoders, inclinometers, stepper motors, and electrical control cabinets.
- Demonstrated success driving process improvements, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience analyzing production data, performance metrics, and operational reports to support decision-making.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical, mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.
- Experience supporting quality systems, inspections, documentation, and compliance activities.
- Strong project coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other reporting, data analysis, or dashboarding tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
