Inpatient UM Specialist (Remote)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Inpatient UM Specialist to support healthcare authorization and utilization management operations in a fully remote environment. This individual will excel at managing competing priorities, communicating effectively with providers and members, and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality service while ensuring compliance with established healthcare processes.

This role is fully remote.

Inpatient UM Specialist (Remote) Responsibilities

• Process and prioritize authorization requests while ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Communicate with providers, members, and internal teams to gather information and resolve inquiries.
• Review documentation for completeness and route cases requiring clinical review to appropriate resources.
• Maintain accurate records and support departmental performance, quality, and compliance standards.
• Assist with call triage, workflow coordination, and other operational support activities.

Inpatient UM Specialist (Remote) Qualifications

• Associate degree in Healthcare, Social Work, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Three or more years of experience in healthcare administration, prior authorization, utilization management support, or a related setting.
• Experience working with healthcare systems, databases, or payer platforms preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
