Insurance Risk Systems Implementation Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Systems Implementation Manager to lead the hands-on deployment and optimization of an enterprise insurance and claims management platform. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives at the intersection of insurance operations and systems execution, with a focus on building a sustainable, well-structured solution. This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.

Insurance Risk Systems Implementation Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of an insurance and claims management platform, serving as the primary point of ownership from an insurance risk perspective.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define system requirements and translate insurance processes into structured workflows and system configurations.
  • Configure, validate, and optimize insurance policy data, claims workflows, and reporting capabilities to support operational and financial visibility.
  • Oversee data preparation, migration, reconciliation, and cleanup efforts to ensure accuracy and integrity within the system.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures, user guidelines, and system governance practices.
  • Support user acceptance testing, training initiatives, and go-live readiness to drive successful adoption.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, external consultants, and brokers throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Provide insights into claims activity, financial exposure, and reporting outputs to support business decision-making.

Insurance Risk Systems Implementation Manager Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in corporate insurance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience supporting or leading the implementation of an insurance or risk management system (e.g., configuration, data migration, workflows, or testing).
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance programs, claims management processes, and related data structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex insurance concepts into system workflows and reporting outputs.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to operate independently in a contract or project-based environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Finance, Treasury, Legal, and IT.
  • Familiarity with reporting, dashboards, and data-driven decision support within insurance or risk platforms.

Preferred:

  • Experience in regulated industries such as utilities, energy, or infrastructure, and exposure to self-insured or captive programs.
