Associate Business Analyst
Our client is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Associate Business Analyst to support complex operational processes through data validation, requirements analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment where curiosity, problem-solving, and strong investigative skills are essential. The ideal candidate is self-driven, comfortable working with large datasets, and able to translate business needs into clear technical requirements while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of critical business processes.
This role is fully remote.
Associate Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Analyze recurring reports and datasets to verify consistency, accuracy, and alignment across multiple systems and data sources.
- Investigate discrepancies by conducting detailed research, identifying root causes, and partnering with appropriate teams to drive resolution.
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for system enhancements and operational processes.
- Develop and maintain reporting documentation, testing artifacts, process guides, and other supporting materials to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Utilize SQL, Excel, and related analytical tools to validate data, perform trend analysis, and support decision-making activities.
- Execute and support testing efforts to confirm that business requirements and calculation logic are functioning as intended.
- Review transactional and operational data to identify anomalies, exceptions, duplicates, and other issues requiring further analysis.
- Collaborate with project teams, operational partners, and stakeholders to communicate findings, provide recommendations, and support process improvements.
- Respond to inquiries related to data interpretation, reporting outcomes, and established business rules.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, deliverables, and time allocation in accordance with departmental procedures.
Associate Business Analyst Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Two or more years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, process improvement, inventory control, internal audit, accounting, or a related analytical role.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL, including the ability to create and modify queries to analyze and validate data.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and refining business and functional requirements.
- Strong reporting, documentation, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and data validation techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently, conduct thorough research, and build collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams.
Compensation: $25-$29/hr. (DOE)
