Senior Epic Regulatory Analyst
Our client is seeking a Senior Epic Regulatory Analyst to serve as a key liaison between regulatory requirements, clinical operations, and information technology within a complex healthcare environment. This individual will leverage deep Epic expertise and strong analytical capabilities to support compliance initiatives, translate evolving regulations into actionable system solutions, and drive cross-functional projects that impact organizational performance and reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate thrives in highly visible environments, demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills, and is comfortable partnering with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Epic Regulatory Analyst Responsibilities

  • Lead regulatory initiatives involving Epic configuration, workflows, reporting, and operational processes to support compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on regulatory matters, collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical teams to interpret requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects from planning through execution, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Analyze existing workflows, policies, and business processes to identify impacts of regulatory changes and recommend system enhancements or process improvements.
  • Investigate, document, and validate detailed reporting specifications and operational requirements to support internal and external reporting obligations.
  • Evaluate Epic application updates and new releases to determine implications for regulatory reporting, system build, and compliance activities.
  • Research and interpret new legislation, rulemaking updates, and annual regulatory changes, translating requirements into actionable recommendations.
  • Assess new technologies and applications and provide guidance regarding regulatory alignment and implementation considerations.
  • Mentor and support less experienced analysts by sharing knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise.
  • Maintain required Epic certifications and participate in ongoing professional development activities.

Senior Epic Regulatory Analyst Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Current Epic certification in an inpatient or ambulatory clinical application required; Epic Clinical Documentation certification strongly preferred.
  • Epic Reporting Workbench certification preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in a healthcare environment supporting regulatory, clinical, operational, or information systems initiatives.
  • At least five years of experience functioning as a senior analyst, application analyst, business analyst, or project lead supporting healthcare technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, multidisciplinary projects through all phases of implementation.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and their impact on clinical workflows, system configuration, and reporting practices.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex situations, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and influence decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of change management and change control methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Familiarity with clinical quality measures and healthcare reporting standards is preferred.
