HR Specialist (Part-Time)
Our client is seeking a Part-Time HR Specialist to support day-to-day human resources operations across a growing, multi-location organization. This role is ideal for a highly service-oriented HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys partnering with managers and employees, and brings a strong balance of operational excellence, compliance awareness, and employee support.
This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon working around 20-25 hours a week.
HR Specialist Responsibilities
- Serve as a key HR resource for employees and managers, providing day-to-day support related to onboarding, offboarding, benefits, policy guidance, and employee questions across multiple locations.
- Manage onboarding and separation processes, including offer documentation, background screening coordination, HRIS updates, new hire setup, and compliant offboarding activities.
- Support benefits administration, leave programs, workers’ compensation claims, unemployment documentation, and employee accommodation processes while partnering with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Assist with recruiting coordination, including job postings, candidate screening support, interview scheduling, and high-volume hiring initiatives.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR data integrity, compliance documentation, reporting-related employee updates within ADP Workforce Now and related systems.
- Partner with store or operational leadership to support workforce needs, employee relations matters, and HR processes across a multi-state, multi-location environment.
- Contribute to HR projects including policy updates, employee engagement initiatives, compliance support, training coordination, and other operational priorities as needed.
HR Specialist Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive human resources experience in a fast-paced business environment.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, including HRIS administration; exposure to recruiting/ATS functionality is highly preferred.
- Direct experience supporting workers’ compensation claims, employee onboarding/offboarding, and HR compliance processes.
- Experience supporting multi-state and/or multi-location employee populations.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Working knowledge of employment law, leave administration, benefits processes, and HR best practices.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and HR systems; experience with reporting and HR data management is preferred.
Compensation: $29-$31/hr. (DOE)
