Controller
Our client is seeking a hands-on and collaborative Controller to support financial operations within a dynamic construction-focused environment. This individual brings strong technical accounting expertise paired with a practical, team-oriented mindset, and thrives in managing multiple active projects while supporting day-to-day operations.

This role is fully onsite in the Woodburn, Oregon area.

Controller Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and monthly close processes.
• Manage job costing activities, including WIP schedules, project cost tracking, and analysis of over/under billings across multiple active projects.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Administer employee benefits programs, support HR-related processes, and review union and certified payroll reporting.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements while continuously improving financial systems and processes.

Controller Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, with demonstrated experience in construction or job cost accounting environments preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in WIP reporting, job costing, and managing financials across multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience overseeing in-house payroll, benefits administration, and multi-state or union-related reporting is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Collaborative, humble, and proactive mindset with a willingness to support a small team in a hands-on, all-in work environment.

Salary: $130K-$140K/year. (DOE)
