Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant who excels in highly regulated environments and brings a strong foundation in technical accounting, compliance, and financial analysis. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate reporting, supporting regulatory requirements, and partnering cross-functionally to drive informed financial decisions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can navigate complex standards, influence stakeholders, and contribute to both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.

This role is fully remote. Candidates must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho and must work PST hours.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting and reporting standards.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including adherence to healthcare or insurance-specific guidelines.
• Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, cost allocations, budgeting, and forecasting to provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Assist with external audits and compliance activities, including preparation of audit schedules, documentation, and resolution of discrepancies.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial systems, internal controls, and accounting policies while supporting cross-functional initiatives.

Senior Accountant Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 4–5+ years of relevant experience; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Experience with regulatory or compliance-based accounting frameworks such as Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), or Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), with exposure to at least one strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and experience supporting statutory or regulatory financial reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting in complex environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems, with strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Compensation: $42-$43/hr. (DOE)
