Footwear Merchandiser
Our client is seeking a Footwear Merchandiser to shape product strategy and assortments for key North American retail channels within a leading global athletic brand’s field sports business. In this role, you will turn marketplace and consumer insights into assortments that drive revenue and market share growth. You will partner with sales, finance, and product teams to keep inventory healthy and aligned with channel goals.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Footwear Merchandiser Responsibilities

• Lead product strategy and tiered assortment development across footwear, apparel, and equipment for assigned retail channels.
• Build and manage multi-season channel plans that support sales growth, margin objectives, and financial targets.
• Monitor franchise health and inventory positions, both in-season and futures, and adjust assortments and buys based on key performance metrics.
• Partner with sales, product merchandising, marketing, finance, and planning teams to align on strategy, forecasts, and invest/divest decisions.
• Negotiate assortments and product offerings in complex discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Present consumer and marketplace insights to cross-functional groups and global teams, representing the North American market and informing future line plans and assortment frameworks.
• Share channel capacity and tiering insights to support product differentiation across regions.
• Identify emerging market trends and product opportunities and route them to product teams to shape upcoming seasons.

Footwear Merchandiser Qualifications

• 10+ years of merchandising experience in a marketplace, consumer, sport, or retail environment, with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to make strategic business decisions and present confidently to groups.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and carry regional insights to global teams.
• Expertise in footwear and apparel merchandising, with proficiency in retail math, profitability metrics, and marketplace analytics.
• Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, creativity, and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the athletic footwear and apparel industry preferred.
• Background in golf and tennis is a plus.
• Experience with global product assortment and Assortment Visual (AV) tools is a plus.

Compensation: Up to $46/hr. (DOE)
