Business Development & Sales Associate
Our client is seeking a Business Development & Sales Associate to help grow and expand an emerging business-to-business sales channel. This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on sales professional who enjoys building new opportunities, developing customer relationships, and managing the operational details required to move orders from initial interest through fulfillment.
This role is on-site in Boston, Massachusetts.
Business Development & Sales Associate Responsibilities
- Drive business development efforts through proactive outreach, cold calling, lead follow-up, and relationship building with prospective business customers.
- Manage inbound sales opportunities from initial inquiry through conversion, gathering order requirements, timelines, product needs, and other key details.
- Develop relationships with corporate, hospitality, institutional, promotional, and other B2B customers to identify new sales opportunities and increase brand visibility.
- Guide customers through product selection, pricing, ordering, and customization processes while navigating questions or challenging conversations professionally.
- Own the order lifecycle from intake through fulfillment, maintaining visibility into approvals, inventory availability, production, logistics, and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate with internal operations, inventory, logistics, and cross-functional partners to ensure purchase orders and customer requests are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with customers regarding order status, requirements, changes, and delivery expectations.
- Support the continued development of sales processes, intake workflows, and customer experiences as the business grows and evolves.
Business Development & Sales Associate Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or a related client-facing role.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling, relationship development, and lead conversion.
- Experience managing customer orders and coordinating operational activities involving inventory, logistics, fulfillment, or purchase orders.
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to navigate complex or challenging conversations in a professional business environment.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage both strategic sales activities and detailed administrative tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where processes and business opportunities may still be developing.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, orders, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.
- Previous experience within consumer products, retail, footwear, apparel, or a related industry is preferred.
Compensation: Up to $38.03/hr. (DOE)
