Strategic Sourcing Manager III
Our client is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager III to lead complex sourcing initiatives, develop long-term category strategies, and drive enterprise-wide procurement excellence across high-value indirect spend areas. This individual will serve as a trusted business partner, leveraging strategic thinking, negotiation expertise, and supplier management to deliver measurable value, mitigate risk, and support organizational objectives. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, influences stakeholders at all levels, and brings deep experience managing complex sourcing and contracting activities.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho and will work PST hours.
Strategic Sourcing Manager III Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-level strategic sourcing initiatives for complex indirect spend categories, with a focus on healthcare services, pharmacy, or other specialized service areas.
- Develop and execute long-term category strategies using spend analysis, market intelligence, business priorities, and supplier capabilities to optimize cost, quality, and performance.
- Negotiate complex contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), and commercial agreements while balancing financial, operational, legal, and regulatory considerations.
- Build trusted partnerships with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals and influence key procurement decisions.
- Manage competitive sourcing events, including RFx processes, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, onboarding, performance management, and ongoing supplier relationships.
- Prepare executive-level business cases, contract summaries, and financial analyses to support governance, approvals, and strategic decision-making.
- Identify cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation opportunities through contract optimization, supplier performance, and procurement best practices.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve supplier issues, strengthen vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement across procurement operations.
- Establish and enhance sourcing, contracting, and supplier management processes that promote operational efficiency, compliance, and long-term business value.
- Lead multiple complex sourcing projects simultaneously while providing guidance, influence, and strategic direction across cross-functional teams.
Strategic Sourcing Manager III Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Approximately 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, contract management, or related experience supporting complex indirect spend categories.
- Demonstrated experience developing category strategies, leading end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, and managing complex RFx processes.
- Strong background negotiating high-value contracts, Statements of Work, and commercial agreements with enterprise suppliers.
- Experience supporting healthcare services, pharmacy, professional services, business process outsourcing, or similarly complex service categories preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of sourcing methodologies, category management principles, supplier relationship management, and contract lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to develop business cases, perform spend and financial analysis, and translate data into strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, communication, and change management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders, facilitate complex decision-making, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Professional certification in procurement, sourcing, contract management, or supply chain is preferred.
