Technical Product Manager – Finance ERP
Our client is seeking a Technical Product Manager – Finance ERP to lead the strategic direction, implementation, and ongoing optimization of a mission-critical enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform supporting finance and business operations. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving product strategy, prioritizing enhancements, and ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate combines ERP product leadership, strong financial systems knowledge, and experience delivering enterprise technology initiatives in complex environments.
This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.
Technical Product Manager – Finance ERP Responsibilities
- Lead the long-term product strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for enterprise finance ERP capabilities, aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals and operational needs.
- Own the ERP product backlog, defining priorities that balance new functionality, system stability, integrations, technical debt reduction, and ongoing platform enhancements.
- Translate finance, payroll, and operational business requirements into detailed technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including upgrades, patches, release planning, testing, and continuous platform optimization.
- Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and support teams to ensure the ERP ecosystem is secure, scalable, reliable, and well-integrated with other enterprise systems.
- Coordinate with external vendors, implementation partners, and third-party providers to ensure project deliverables align with product priorities and contractual expectations.
- Facilitate product governance activities, including roadmap reviews, prioritization sessions, stakeholder meetings, and release planning across cross-functional business teams.
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics such as system availability, adoption, transaction efficiency, and application quality to drive continuous improvement.
- Support organizational change initiatives by collaborating with business leaders to communicate system updates, encourage user adoption, and promote successful implementation outcomes.
- Ensure ERP solutions adhere to applicable financial controls, data privacy standards, and organizational compliance requirements.
Technical Product Manager – Finance ERP Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management, ERP product ownership, enterprise applications, or a related leadership role.
- Proven experience leading enterprise ERP implementations, enhancements, or modernization initiatives across complex organizations.
- Strong understanding of finance, accounting, payroll, and operational business processes within enterprise systems.
- Experience managing product roadmaps, Agile backlogs, release planning, stakeholder prioritization, and iterative software delivery.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, enterprise integrations, and application lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, executive stakeholders, business users, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and change management skills.
- Experience with ERP platforms in public sector, education, or similarly regulated environments is preferred.
- Agile, Scrum Product Owner, Certified Product Manager, or related product management certifications are a plus.
