Business Manager (Public Sector) 
Our public client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Business Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. This individual will balance operational oversight, procurement, financial coordination, and administrative leadership while building strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and the community. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

This role is based in-office in Newberg, Oregon.

Business Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily business operations, procurement activities, contract administration, and administrative support functions for a department of a larger organization.
  • Manage purchasing, vendor relationships, inventory, budgeting support, and financial documentation while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Lead administrative processes, records management, reporting, and the development of operational procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Supervise support staff, coordinate departmental resources, and oversee fleet maintenance scheduling and documentation to ensure timely operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, supporting public-facing initiatives, and maintaining effective communication during routine and high-priority situations.

Business Manager Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in procurement, contracting, financial operations, office administration, or a related business management role, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing, contract administration, budgeting, vendor management, and process improvement within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems used for financial tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, build collaborative relationships, and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
  • Prior experience serving government or public sector clients (municipalities, state agencies, public authorities) highly preferred. 

Salary: $90K-$95K/year. (DOE)
