Global Engineering Manager
Our client is seeking a Global Engineering Manager – Engineering Systems & Standards to lead the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of engineering systems that support global product development. This leadership role oversees engineering standards, technical documentation, and system deployment initiatives while managing a high-performing team and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient engineering solutions.
This role is on-site in Fairview, Oregon.
Global Engineering Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, development, deployment, and ongoing management of engineering systems that support the global product development lifecycle.
- Direct a team of engineers and technical staff, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, technical libraries, workflows, and documentation to support consistent engineering practices across the organization.
- Drive engineering systems projects from concept through design, verification, implementation, and deployment while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders across global regions to promote consistent system performance, governance, and product support.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sales, marketing, and service to define system requirements and balance cost, quality, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Review business and customer needs, translate requirements into functional system specifications, and support technical problem resolution.
- Lead technical design reviews and project evaluations to ensure system quality, reliability, and compliance with engineering requirements.
- Develop and implement standardized engineering processes, tools, and best practices that support continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Ensure engineering systems comply with applicable regulatory, production, and organizational standards.
- Investigate system and design issues, oversee corrective actions, and implement improvements that enhance system reliability and reduce operational downtime.
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
Global Engineering Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline required.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience leading engineering teams as a supervisor, people manager, or technical lead supporting multiple engineering systems development projects.
- Demonstrated success managing complex technical programs with responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
- Experience leading engineering systems through design, verification, deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards, technical documentation, and systems development methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Project, and MRP/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and cross-functional communication abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, develop, and motivate high-performing technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, process optimization, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Salary: $120K-$135K/year. (DOE)
