Electronics Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to lead verification and validation efforts for advanced electronic sensing technologies used in demanding equipment environments. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring products meet performance, reliability, and quality expectations through disciplined Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) execution, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in DVP&R ownership, thrives in complex technical environments, and can influence teams through the resolution of challenging validation issues.
This role is fully on-site in Dayton, Ohio.
Electronics Engineer Responsibilities:
- Own the development, execution, and maintenance of Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) activities throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
- Translate product requirements, engineering specifications, risk assessments, and failure analyses into comprehensive validation plans with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
- Define validation strategies that ensure complete coverage across laboratory, simulation, environmental, hardware-in-the-loop, durability, and field testing activities.
- Lead DVP&R reviews with cross-functional stakeholders, driving alignment on test priorities, schedules, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Review, analyze, and interpret validation results to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with product requirements.
- Investigate validation failures and non-conformances, identify root causes, and influence teams to implement effective corrective actions through closure.
- Support product readiness and release decisions by providing objective assessments of validation outcomes, residual risks, and overall product maturity.
- Maintain clear documentation and reporting of verification activities to support quality standards and design traceability requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve DVP&R methodologies, reporting processes, and overall validation efficiency across programs.
- Serve as a technical resource and advocate for verification best practices throughout the organization.
Electronics Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading and owning Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) activities within an electronic product development environment.
- Strong understanding of verification, validation, and reliability principles for electronic systems and components.
- Proven experience developing validation plans from product requirements and translating them into executable test strategies.
- Experience applying risk-based validation methodologies, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and related quality tools.
- Ability to analyze validation data, investigate failures, and drive issues through resolution using structured problem-solving approaches.
- Proven success collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, testing, laboratory, quality, and program stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
- Hands-on experience supporting laboratory, environmental, field, system-level, or durability testing activities is highly desirable.
- Experience working with sensing technologies, inertial systems, electromechanical products, or equipment operating in demanding environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulated product development processes, design traceability, or product release readiness activities is considered a plus.
