IT Infrastructure Administrator 2
Our client is seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator 2 to support and enhance enterprise security infrastructure within a complex and mission-driven environment. This role will focus on implementing, administering, and improving network and cybersecurity technologies while contributing to incident response, security operations, and infrastructure protection initiatives. The ideal candidate is a mid-career IT professional who brings strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for supporting organizations that serve their communities.
This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.
IT Infrastructure Administrator 2 Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and support network security technologies across enterprise environments.
- Participate in the design, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of cybersecurity infrastructure and security controls.
- Configure and administer security hardware, software, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, vulnerabilities, and operational risks.
- Contribute to incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Perform forensic data recovery activities and assist with security-related investigations as needed.
- Support penetration testing activities and help remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Assist with securing data in transit and ensuring compliance with organizational security standards.
- Implement and maintain host security, endpoint security, and third-party security controls.
- Support traffic monitoring, security compliance initiatives, and data storage protection strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, improve, and document security processes and procedures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, security standards, and operational procedures.
IT Infrastructure Administrator 2 Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience implementing and administering network security technologies in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, endpoint protection, transit security, and data storage security.
- Experience supporting incident response activities and security event investigations.
- Knowledge of security control implementation, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance-focused security practices.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, network security platforms, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
- Familiarity with security monitoring, threat detection, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability management, or security assessment activities is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of networking technologies and security best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Passion for supporting organizations that positively impact their communities through public service or education.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Experience with technologies such as Google Workspace, Cisco networking solutions, Palo Alto security platforms, XDR tools, or similar enterprise technologies is beneficial.
