IT Infrastructure Administrator III / Technical Auditor
Our client is seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator III / Technical Auditor to play a key role in strengthening enterprise security, access governance, and technology controls across a complex and evolving IT environment. This position will focus on role-based access control (RBAC) design and implementation, systems and network mapping, security auditing, incident response planning, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate is a mid-career infrastructure or security professional who can work independently, navigate ambiguity, and bring a positive, service-oriented mindset to a mission-driven organization that supports the local community.

This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.

IT Infrastructure Administrator III / Technical Auditor Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) frameworks across enterprise applications and technology platforms.
• Create and maintain comprehensive application inventories, access matrices, and role mappings to support security, compliance, and operational objectives.
• Assess existing access controls and design scalable permission structures that align with business functions and security best practices.
• Perform technical audits of infrastructure, systems, networks, and security controls to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain detailed systems architecture diagrams, network maps, and technology dependency documentation.
• Track, monitor, and report on security controls, remediation efforts, and compliance initiatives across the technology environment.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to evaluate and strengthen security processes, governance standards, and operational procedures.
• Support incident response planning by defining roles, responsibilities, escalation paths, and response procedures across multiple technology domains.
• Review and assess network, endpoint, storage, and data protection controls to ensure appropriate security measures are in place.
• Evaluate third-party technology integrations and endpoint security practices to support organizational security requirements.
• Document infrastructure standards, security procedures, audit findings, and technical recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in strategic technology initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure security and operational resilience.

IT Infrastructure Administrator III / Technical Auditor Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience implementing or managing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), identity governance, access management, or related security initiatives.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security principles, including network security, endpoint protection, data security, incident response, and risk mitigation.
• Experience conducting technical audits, security assessments, compliance reviews, or control validation activities.
• Ability to independently analyze complex environments, identify security gaps, and develop practical remediation strategies.
• Experience creating technical documentation, systems inventories, network diagrams, process maps, and governance artifacts.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as networking, firewalls, cloud services, endpoint security platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Google Workspace, Cisco networking solutions, Palo Alto security products, XDR platforms, or comparable technologies is beneficial.
• Understanding of traffic monitoring, port security, transit security, host security, and third-party endpoint security concepts.
• Experience developing or supporting incident response plans, security procedures, or operational playbooks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Positive, adaptable, and customer-focused approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Passion for supporting organizations that serve the community, education, or public sector missions.
• Bachelor’s degree is not required; equivalent professional experience and demonstrated technical expertise will be considered.
